What’s good times to feed your cat? And how many times? I’m getting a cat and was wondering to be safe, the cat I’m planning to get is 3-4 months old and is a female (she’s spayed) ANY cat tips is needed! I want to be the best I can be!
This is what I do with my cat , she is spayed and 13 years old, I have had her since she was 10 to 12 weeks old . I have a feeder that drops a small meal into her bowl every 4 hours around the clock , so that in itself is 6 small meals . Also 1 small wet meal which is chicken. Being careful that the dry and wet foods are both very high quality. I take her to the veterinarian a minimum of once a year for complete evaluation and examination to include up to date vaccines and stool testing, and all 4 paws 🐾 nail trimming .Large amount of toys I keep on hand and several cardboard boxes ,along with a bed that is enclosed so she can feel comfortable and snuggly I include blanket and a sweater for her to lie on in addition to the mattress provided. A large clean litter box with quality litter , I clean it 6 to 7 times a week for good health and hygiene.
Also very important 2 water bowls with fresh water changed out 1 to 2 times a day.
Don’t forget lots of affection and petting if your particular cat 🐈 enjoys that . Mine does most of the times .
One other thing to add , there are many areas that cats are not permitted outside to run around, local rules , laws , regulations which largely have the protection of the cat in mine . My area strongly recommends not letting cats outside due to safety concerns of the cats. So know your local areas as to what is appropriate and what is not .
Cats usually eat enough on their own and as much as they need. Always leave dry food out. I would give wet food at most once a day. More importantly, buy a drinking fountain, because cats hardly ever drink still water. And whenever possible: let the cat out of the house, that's their nature, they want to explore, hunt and be free. If you love each other, it will always come back anyway. If you want to let her out, wait 1-2 weeks so that she can get used to being at home. I wish you both a successful start!

i have 3 cats but i'm getting an extra cat for the family soon. normally i just put food and water seperately and leave my cats to eat and drink freely as they want. the issue is the grey cat is always hungry and tries to eat fish. cause of the many cats i have a house where all the cats sleep it can hold probably 20 cats. anyways i hope that you enjoy spending time with cats. i love cats this why i have many

I’ve had my Lenny for two years and I got him when he was 2 months old. I started out with wet food when he was baby but I then I started him in dry food. dry food is actually good them because it keeps their teeth strong and clean. I get a low residue food that’s good for urinary tract health and hair balls. I also give him filtered water and use stainless steel products because they hold less bacteria than plastic bowls. I only give a 1/3 cup of food in morning and 1/3 at night. I started doing this because he did start to gain weight. Some cats will over eat so I would start leaving food out but if your cat over eats then cut back because overweight cats can joint issues. Hope this helps!
I just got my own kitten today and am having a lot of ocd and anxiety about it 😞. I grew up with dogs and a cat my entire life in my family home and never had a problem. Although since moving into my own place I’ve never had one of my own specifically. I got my kitten today (I love my family pets and always wanted my own) but I’m soooo anxious. My ocd is terrible!’ Im worrying what if it was the wrong choice, what if something goes wrong , he ruins something, chews chords and causes a fire, changes my feeling of control over my living space, contamination fears , etc. whyyyyyyy do I feel this what do I do
I know I am reassurance seeking but my cat has difficulty breathing sometimes, it almost sounds like she’s wheezing or coughing or trying to hack up a hairball but I feel guilty because I only messaged the vet the first time it happened for the last fall and it seemed to resolve but after that it continued to happen occasionally like maybe once every few months and I didn’t message them again since the first time and I feel like a neglectful pet parent for not messaging the vet until now. The only reason I messaged them right now though was because I randomly thought of it and started feeling anxious and guilty. I used to message the vet a lot whenever anything seemed to be wrong with my cat but then my anxiety about it got somewhat better and I stopped doing it so much but google says that cat asthma can be life threatening and I’m afraid I’m putting her at harm for not doing something for all that time. And she has had a lot of health issues since I got her last September and I feel like it’s somehow my fault and that I’m neglecting her for not playing with her with her toys very often
I know this might be bad but I used to have some serious cuteness aggression with my cat and I used to like be a little too much with my cat like tap her head repeatedly and sometimes lightly hit her. I would also kind of annoy her a lot when she was trying to rest. I never did anything out of malice. I just have issues with cuteness and I know that’s not an excuse. I just feel really bad now.. I don’t think she’s ever like been hurt or anything, just annoyed and aggravated. Do I deserve bad things now?
