Lexapro

I’d give it some more time, it may be taking your body some time to adjust to it. If it doesn’t in a few more weeks talk to your doctor

I tried it, everyone is different but for me, it had me calling hotlines. I thought I was genuinely going to hurt my dogs. I thought I wanted to. I was in a constant panic attack. The hotline lady was like “wait.. you started lexapro? Honey the lexapro is causing this, you have to talk to your doctor. I’m talking from experience here, my husband and I both reacted terribly to it.” She’s the reason I realized what I was experiencing wasn’t normal. My intrusive thoughts and urges increased by like 75%. I would give it some more time if I were you but I also experienced the numbness. Part of the reason I thought I was going to hurt my dogs was because I started feeling indifferent about them. I borderline disliked them. That was insane to me and I was so worried bc I love my dogs more than my own life. It was like I could see myself from a corner inside my brain. Just pay close attention to your anxiety levels. My doctor said that if the side effects outweighed the supposed benefits, to stop it, so I did. That and I got suicidal but I have friends on lexapro who feel wonderful so just give it some time unless it gets worse :) I know a few people that say Lexapro is great for their OCD. I’m just super sensitive so don’t let that scare you, it’s just my experience and I’m grateful the hotline lady helped me realize what was wrong. I wish I had known a little sooner.

Been on it for a couple of months right now. I was eased into it and I’m currently taking 20 mg. I haven’t had any major issues with it. At the beginning just insomnia for a bit but then that died down quickly. When I upped the dose, I did feel worse for a day where my anxiety and all, including my intrusive thoughts, were through the roof but then that stopped. That only last like 1-2 days. Overall, it has definitely helped me. I feel less anxious and I feel happier. I am also able to do ERP more effectively. I still have my bad days but overall a lot better than the other 4 antidepressants I tried. So I say give it a shot. I’m also surprised it works well for me because I do have history of being very sensitive to medication and experiencing tons of side effects. But it’s worked well for me. Just keep in mind everyone is different but I would recommend giving it a fair shot and see if it’s for you. Hope this helps😊
