Hope everyone is having a great day. I feel my harm thoughts are getting but im still getting questions from time to time. A question might be “do you think if you were born a rapist you would rape someone with glasses” Sometimes the answer FEELS like yes. I know ocd can produce fake feelings. So im wondering if that feeling of yes could be OCD?

@Justin Trout Hi Justin. Can I ask wether it’s common this feeling of ‘yes’ or feeling ‘it’s true’ manifest with SOOCD too?
This ‘feeling like yes’ smashes me so hard with SOOCD. I’m like “could I kiss a guy?” Or “am I actually gay?” Or “do you want to be gay?” And my mind often is convinced or it feels like a yes. This despite never questioning my sexuality until this came in at 26, and loving thoughts about women. Horrible disorder. I hate it. I hate it so so much.
@gp @gp I honestly think thats ocd! That feeling of yes. Everyone ive talked to who has ocd has experienced that same feeling! It cant be a coincidence
I struggle a lot with intrusive sexual questions. One recently is do I think i would enjoy having sex with my teenage cousin if i was a guy. Im so scared because at times it feels true but I SWARE I DONT THINK THAT. I feel awful and guilty. Could this be an intrusive question that doesn’t have an answer. I feel awful if it’s true but I honestly don’t know.
Ugh. I hate my thoughts. I don’t even feel like me - depersonalization of it all. Im on my medication and sometimes i feel ok but the thoughts im having are so hard. I know if i didn’t have it ocd these thoughts wouldnt exist. Its all hypothetical questions that scare me. “If you were a rapist would you enjoy it” “if you were a rapist would you rape someone who looks like that “ Just bad sexual intrusive thoughts. Im trying to give myself grace because ocd is brutal. I know ultimately theyre just thoughts but i feel like the answer to them is yes - that could be ocd lying to me though. Im scared of these thoughts. I want my mind back. Any help would be appreciated
Some days I feel fine somedays i feel my ocd is the end of the world. My theme has changed from pocd to harm “rape” and its awful. I know I would never violate anyone that way but my ocd is asking hypothetical questions IF i was a rapist would i want to hurt this person or that person. I feel so guilty for even thinking about people that way and when the answer feels like yes. It scares me. Today is an ok day but i still feel awful. I have started therapy with a no ocd therapist so thats great news. We’ve been working on answering the questions with “ i dont know” but i feel ocd is calling me a liar. Just need some supportive words right now I guess or advice
