I struggle a lot with intrusive sexual questions. One recently is do I think i would enjoy having sex with my teenage cousin if i was a guy. Im so scared because at times it feels true but I SWARE I DONT THINK THAT. I feel awful and guilty. Could this be an intrusive question that doesn’t have an answer. I feel awful if it’s true but I honestly don’t know.
I’m sorry to hear you are struggling. You’re going to hate the answer, but you have to lean into the anxiety. You can’t answer intrusive thoughts, you have to let them be. When the intrusive thought pops into your head, don’t fight it. Don’t ruminate on it. Just accept that it’s there. It will feel awful but that’s ok because us folk with OCD are used to that and we can handle it

@bekind94 It’s ok. You’re rationalizing with it too much. The intrusive thought is just that, a thought. You can’t try to “figure out” ocd
From my own experience the OCD intrusive sexual thought or with me the image scares me. Recognizing this is OCD’s method to now have me question, ruminate is now staring at me. The fear will give me a groinal response too. I work at recognizing this is its pattern both physically and mentally. I then practice to not engage or respond. Yep, there it is. I don’t need to respond. I had a therapist tell me if you obsess hard enough and buy in your OCD will convince you that’s really what you want.

@bekind94 I honestly think that all intrusive thoughts are essentially questions. You can very easily turn that sentence into a "What if...?" I struggle with sexual intrusive thoughts too but the best thing to do is to let them be. They are anxiety thoughts, not true thinking thoughts.

@mi.t In my opinion this is spot on. There is no answer needed. My OCD scares me first then wants me to engage. Let it be it’s playing “the what if” and going after your morals and the true/real you.
@Anonymous It just scares me because it always feels like the answer is yes. IDK if thats ocd playing tricks or if the question just is anxiety driven

Same every question I ask myself I feel like my body is like YES!!! You would do that then I get confused, it all feels so real I don’t know what to believe anymore and it’s killing me.

@Fullmoon20 The answer is there isn’t one. Its an illogical. Hard to accept but its the truth. Searching for an answer keeps up ruminating. Accepting there isn’t one helps me move on with my day. A way to answer idk and idc

Is this even ocd anymore it feels so real and like I’m in denial.. I’m not seeking reassurance but I just don’t know what to do anymore. I got an intrusive sexual image of me getting a baby’s hand and making it finger me and got the feeling as though I may want to do it.. I feel really guilty and ashamed. I would never do that to a baby the image is weird to me but I don’t know it’s like I get this feeling that I may want to do it I know it’s just a thought but I feel like a weirdo
I feel very anxious that I would want to be pregnant from one of my family members I know this sounds absolutely insane and I know I hate the thought and I’m scared that I would want that when I don’t even though my OCD is so convincing that I would want that even though I don’t
Recently I have been struggling with sexual themed OCD and my main concern is that I can't help but thinking of real life situations, sexual thoughts, and feeling like I would enjoy it in real life (pocd, etc). I even have dreams in which I enjoy these sexual situations. I even feel like I like to think of these thoughts to test myself. I feel really disgusting and lost... Is is OCD or real attraction? Does it happen to anyone else? Would anyone have advice for me? Thank you so much and good luck 🫂
